Growing up in Colombia, Ana Bedon never saw herself reflected in typical beauty campaigns and could never find clean products that would work for her skin. Instead, her mother and grandmother would take her to the local farmers markets to buy fresh fruits and create homemade skincare products themselves.
Years later, while living in Los Angeles, Ana wanted to reconnect with her South American roots. She began to rethink her habits and routines and realized that her skincare regimen also needed a reset. Even in the US, the skincare products she could find were far from perfect, frequently causing irritation and breakouts.
More importantly, Ana saw that she was not the only one desperate to discover vegan skincare products devoid of parabens and other harsh chemicals. While women of color had more choices when it came to cosmetics, they weren't a lot of options when it came to skincare. That’s when Ana decided to create BEDON — her own line of simple and clean skincare products for everyday use that would serve women of color.
